Big Bend Bugs

Today, I decided to install a bug screen on my front door. There are some unique (and large) bugs in the Big Bend area, but I don't like them crawling up my leg or jumping in my face.
A curious tarantuala examines my front porch

A resident alien

Texas Lubber. They are prolific at the moment, but will vanish soon, as their eggs are planted in the ground, waiting for the perfect conditions to once again make this land theirs.
Jiminy? Is that you?

Have seen a lot of tarantulas in Terlingua but luckily have not been bitten by one. How about yourself?

I watched Discovery Channel last night. The grossest insect scene I have ever scene was 3 million bats building up droppings in a cave. To add to that yuckiness, cockroaches in their multitudes crawled all over the droppings while feasting on it.

I think I've seen that before. Good video for Halloween.
